Brake pads/shoes: the wearable part of the brake system that surround the rotor to reduce the heat created during braking. 

Brake fluid: hydraulic fluid used to reduce heat and friction created during braking. 

Caliper: holds the pads on the inside and outside of the rotor. 

Rotors: rotating disc with two contact surfaces, sometimes cast with an air channel between two to alleviate heat. 

Brake system evaluation: thorough and complete analysis of all brake system components including measuring the rotors and drums with a micrometer, checking the condition of the friction material (pads/shoes), examining the calipers, wheel cylinders, hardware, brake lines and hoses, master cylinder, proportional valve and more. 

Brake maintenance service: includes lubrication and adjustment of the parking brake cables in addition to lubricating the caliper guide pins, star wheel adjuster, and backing plate pads on a drum brake as necessary. 

Brake fluid exchange service: removes old brake fluid from the master cylinder, which is wiped clean; refill the reservoir with new manufacturers’ approved brake fluid and flush brakes until fresh fluid is flowing from each wheel location.

Silver Brake Service: includes a complete brake evaluation, installation of new pads/shoes, reconditioning of rotors, brake maintenance service, and brake fluid exchange; 18 month or 18,000 mile warranty 

Gold Brake Service: includes a complete brake evaluation, installation of new pads/shoes, reconditioning of rotors, brake maintenance service, brake fluid exchange, and replacement of calipers or wheel cylinders; 36 month or 36,000 mile warranty 

Platinum 1460 Brake Service: includes a complete brake evaluation, installation of premium ceramic brake pads and reconditioning of rotors; 4 year, unlimited mileage warranty
